South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb will release its proprietary brand font, "Bithumb Gothic," free of charge to mark the 100th anniversary of Hangul Day.
Bithumb said on Oct. 8 that two versions — "Bithumb Gothic Original" and "Bithumb Gothic Basic" — will be available for download on its corporate website. The initiative is intended to unify the brand’s visual identity across customer touchpoints through a proprietary typeface.
The font was designed around bold strokes, a balanced center of gravity and a square structure. The company said those features were meant to convey stability and trust. During development, it adjusted the font’s slant and weight based on employee feedback so it could be used across a range of business functions.
Bithumb plans to apply the new font to external events, its official YouTube channel and partner services. It also plans to list both versions on Noonnu, a free font platform, to broaden distribution.
A Bithumb official said the company will continue developing various fonts to provide users with useful typefaces while expanding the brand experience.
