Ripple is expanding its partnership with Robinhood, broadening the use of its dollar-backed stablecoin RLUSD across retail and institutional financial services.
Cointelegraph reported on October 27 that Ripple and Robinhood announced at the Swell 2026 event in New York plans to deepen cooperation in RLUSD-based payments, treasury management, lending and trading services.
RLUSD is currently supported on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp, and is scheduled to be added to the Robinhood app later this year. Robinhood also plans to use XRPL-based RLUSD for institutional settlement.
Robinhood will also adopt Ripple Treasury, Ripple's corporate treasury management solution. It is intended to support global cash and liquidity management, payment processing, cash-flow forecasting and intercompany fund transfers.
The two companies are also strengthening ties in institutional financial services. Ripple Prime is already providing financial services to Bitstamp, which is operated by Robinhood, and the exchange plans to introduce perpetual futures trading later this year.
Ripple also expanded its partnership with BNY. Through its digital-asset custody platform, BNY supports custody of XRP and RLUSD. The companies also plan to work together so clients can directly mint and redeem RLUSD through the bank in the future.
Separately, Ripple is partnering with working-capital platform C2FO on an RLUSD-based business-to-business payments service. The service aims to pay approved invoices within seconds, and the first transaction is planned for later this year.
RLUSD has a market capitalization of about $2.57 billion, with roughly $1 billion issued on XRPL. Robinhood had 28.6 million funded customers globally as of August, a base that could help expand RLUSD distribution.
