Moscow Exchange, Russia’s largest securities exchange, plans to support trading in major digital assets including Bitcoin starting in December.

Cointelegraph reported on November 3 that Moscow Exchange plans to launch trading services for Bitcoin, Ether and Tether on Dec. 1.

Boris Blokhin, managing director for sales and business development at Moscow Exchange, said at a recent investor conference that the exchange plans to begin virtual-asset trading on Dec. 1. Several clients are already testing the trading system.

Trading will use the exchange’s existing securities-market infrastructure. Investors will participate through brokerages, while a partner custodian will handle the storage and management of the digital assets.

Restrictions will apply to retail investors. Non-qualified investors must pass a digital-asset test, and annual purchases will be capped at 300,000 rubles, or about $3,700, per intermediary. The same cap will not apply to qualified investors.
