Bithumb said on Nov. 6 that it participated in the Economy Zone at the 2026 National Assembly Legislative Expo hosted by South Korea’s National Assembly.

Now in its second year, the expo was launched last year to directly reflect a wider range of public voices in the legislative process. This year’s event also included, for the first time, a venue for companies to present policy and legislative ideas to gather diverse feedback from the field.

At the expo, Bithumb proposed a legislative idea to create provisions requiring the central government and local governments to provide anti-voice phishing education. In October, South Korea revised the Special Act on the Prevention of Telecommunications-Based Financial Fraud and Refund of Fraud Losses to include digital assets within the scope of victim assets and expand relief procedures to cover digital-asset exchanges.

Current law requires the government to collect fraud-related information and issue alerts, but it does not explicitly mandate preventive education. Bithumb said requiring anti-voice phishing education would help prevent actual losses and submitted its legislative proposal on that basis.

Bithumb also operated a booth titled “How to Respond to Digital-Asset Voice Phishing,” centered on the themes of prevention, response and trust. At the site, the company offered visitor-participation anti-voice phishing education through OX quizzes and screened videos featuring real voice phishing cases and follow-up response measures.

A Bithumb official called the National Assembly Legislative Expo a meaningful opportunity to share practical legislative ideas for protecting digital-asset users and communicate directly with citizens. With safety nets expanding, including victim relief for voice phishing involving digital assets, the company said it will continue working to build a safe and healthy digital-asset investment environment through thorough prevention systems and ongoing guidance.
